Past Participants Perspectives

Jayce Greer – Jayce is a SJHS Hockey Program graduate from 2015/16. Through hard work and dedication Jayce managed to snag the Kanata Lasers 5th team pick in the HEO midget AAA priority selection draft last spring. We had the chance to grab an interview with this young man, and he credited a large portion of his success as hockey player to the skills he acquired and developed in the SJHS hockey program. This just goes to show the effect this fine program can have on these young hockey players games and success. Jayce was quoted by saying “I strongly recommend that anyone with an interest in hockey to give this program a chance, because you will see huge improvements in your hockey game.”

Alexander Paquette – This former SJHS Hockey Program participant is now in grade 12 and is starring for the local Renfrew Jr. B Timberwolves. Alex enjoyed the hockey program unconditionally and the improvements in his game since then have been extraordinary. This comes from the semester of practice as well as the knowledge he gained for the rest of his life on the game of hockey. Alex had nothing but good things to say about the staff, classmates and the program in general. “Y’know, God’s in the school, but I’m in the rink.” – Alexander Paquette.

pixelNick Fleguel – Nick has been in the hockey program for 4 years, as a student for 2 and a co-op for 2. Co-op is a role that several students will choose which means that they help out the instructors, Mr. McGregor and Mrs. Cahill, and take on a role of leadership and responsibility. They’re meant to be role models for the students and are expected to use their experience and age to help develop the young hockey players of our fine program.
